RENEW International

RENEW International has reached thousands of parishioners in the U.S. and in countries within six continents. Its curricula and materials teach how the word of God is real and Pertinent. By forming small Christian communities, RENEW International shows Catholics how their belief can help surmount personal challenges, trust in one another, and achieve peace.

RENEW International is a non-profit Catholic organization, reaching followers who are in religious need. This global ministry comes from the vision of Msgr. Tom Kleissler. He believed in a stronger, revived Church with laypersons involved with parish and civic issues. He partnered with Msgr. Tom Ivory to make these ideas a reality and they began RENEW International. Since its inception, RENEW has helped thousands of parishioners find or rejuvenate their faith. Participants in their curricula gather together in small faith-sharing groups to study, pray, and study to live according to the Gospel. They find deeper meaning in Scripture and study to connect its lessons to their lives.

Through RENEW International, parishioners discover to trust and support one another as they gather to study, reflect, and pray. Participants of RENEW International curricula experience a rejuvenated spirit. They become more committed, filled Catholics with a stronger kinship with God.

Church on mission is definitely a popular saying that is everywhere these days. the idea that we are required to title places of worship, missional, has for eternity been strange to me. please, shouldnt all bodies of Christ be missional in their very core? all churches, at its very core, yearn to engage their culture and city with the message of Jesus as a missionary would in a foreign country? Isnt what the bodies of Christ is encouraged to do in the sending out by Jesus in Matthew 28:19? Our own hometown begs for this type of church. North Austin church is slowly gravitating to what Jesus instructed in the Gospels.

The messiah gives the challenge in Acts 1:8 saying, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 explains this idea as, right before Jesus Christ leaves to go to Heaven, He directs the disciples on a exploration that would begin right in their individual community. He begins with their local place of Jerusalem, and then expands the call to the many parts of the creation.

As disciples of Jesus, we are not moved to privacy, but to be missional persons who are actively going out and going to areas right where they are with the message of Jesus. We have observed this throughout history: God moved Abraham on a mission to exit his country and his people and go to the city that God would show him (Gen. 12:1), God urges Moses on a story to renew an enslaved people and lead them to relationship with God (Exodus 3:8-10), God sends Jesus on a journey to world to reconcile all things to Himself through the cross (Colossians 1:20). And now God is sending believers on a exploration to engage homes, cities, people groups, and even nations with the story of Christ(Matt. 28:19 Mark 6:7 Luke 10:1 John 20:21 Acts 1:8). If we abandon this motivation and continue to perceive the places of worship like a invite only country club ” urging that people clean up their performance, pay their money, and drive to our building God will continue His story without us.

Courage is defined as greatness of heart, spirit to meet danger, and boldness.

God commanded Joshua three times to be strong and have good courage and assured him of His constant presence if His commandments were obeyed. (Josh. 1:8-9) He promised that: “the eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” (Deut. 33:27)

Knowing the Lord and obeying His commandments are the two main ingredients for the God kind of courage. El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient and Mighty One is on your side! He is Jehovah Nissi; the Lord, your Victory Banner. (Ex. 17:15) Isn’t that interesting? The victory banner is hoisted AFTER the battle! That means that the battle is already won! Christ’s defeat of Satan on the cross has made you more than a conqueror. (Rom. 8:37) Tell Him about the battles you’re facing and nestle underneath the everlasting arms while he destroys your enemy.

You are equipped with the full armor of God. Moses and Joshua were assured of God’s presence and guidance due to their obedience to the Law. Through Christ’s sacrifice you have the assurance of having already overcome because “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (I John 4:4) You are not fighting a physical enemy but you’re up against evil spiritual forces. Although this sounds ominous, all you will need to do is STAND! Yes, stand, protected by the whole armor of God.

David’s only physical armor in his battle against Goliath was a slingshot! To the heavily armored giant he shouted: “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear; but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies.” David was the ONLY person who knew without a doubt that God would deliver Goliath into his hands! There had been a number of battles to overthrow the Philistines - to no avail. His brother ridiculed him, the giant jeered at him, and both armies stood by in total disbelief and amusement. Was David daunted by that? Did disbelief, shame and doubt enter his head? After all he wasn’t even old enough to be in the army! NO! He declared out loud to everyone that they “shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s!” Then he ran up to the man whom everyone feared, with only five smooth stones in his hand but fully armed with the anointing of the Lord of Hosts. There was no iota of doubt in him as he knew his God; His faithfulness, His previous exploits and, most of all, His intimate fellowship with him. (1 Samuel 17)

How about you? Are you being influenced by voices of doubt and unbelief? Or do you take courage in the strength and full protection of the Lord of Hosts? Don’t forget to put on His armor. It’s not heavy but it will help you to stand and be courageous.

You must first of all know the Truth of the Word of God. Only the Word can effect the salvation of your soul. Once assured of salvation, you know you have been made righteous by His blood. This is your main armor: the breastplate that protects your heart and most vulnerable parts. Now you’re equipped to share the gospel wherever you go and use your ever-increasing faith as a shield to ward off doubts and fears. Being born again by the Spirit of God protects your mind, keeping it focused on His Word and Divine Will. Lastly, pray constantly using the Word of God, not human wisdom, to come against the forces that attack you. They shall flee at the onslaught of this Sword of the Spirit! (Eph.: 6:10-18)

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.” (Josh. 1:9)

Sometimes we’re already free but we don’t realize it. We
don’t believe it or act like it…

There’s a story about an eagle that got trapped in a chicken
cage as an egg. He hatched there and then he grew up with the
chickens.

He didn’t think that he could fly because all of those around
him told him that none of them could fly -including him. He
believed them.

This eagle grew up thinking that he was a chicken. When he saw
an eagle fly overhead he watched longingly. He had the urge to
fly but never tried it because of what he believed.

Flying

Do you feel the urge to fly in Christ Jesus. The urge to do more
of what Jesus said you could do. The urge to do more than anyone
on this planet thought you could -including you?

You’re not the only one. God told us in Ephesians 3:20 that He
is able to give us above what we ask for -or even think of.

More promises are given to us in John 14:12 as Jesus said that
when we believe on Him and what He did, we would also do those
things! Then He went on to tell us that greater things than
these would we do because He went to His Father!

That’s a lot! It’s far more than the chickens said we could do!

Who We Really Are

God’s word was given to us in the Bible to show us who we really
are. It’s not just a list of does and don’ts. Through Jesus we
can become children of God Almighty.

Once we’re born again we are transferred to the kingdom of God.
This means that we are heirs to what God has made available to
us!

Think about it… In this world if we find out that we are heirs
to a lot we generally go to get it right away!

Lies

God said this to us and His enemy has told a lot of lies to keep
us from getting what’s ours! -That’s enough to tick God’s kids
off!

So you can avoid living like a chicken! Remember, chickens walk
around being afraid, they never go flying, and they believe that
what they see is all that they get.

Fly in Jesus!

Believe that God frees you through Jesus! Learn who you really
are through God’s Word… It will change your beliefs and make
them your reality!

Change your perception and fly free!
