Preparation for a Body Detox Program
A body detox is a method of helping your body of eliminating excess toxic material that have built up in its organs and tissues. Body cleansing is a maintenance process that goes on naturally and systematically in the body. Generally the body will clean itself sufficiently, but our constant exposure to environmental toxins, and a diet of foods that are manufactured with synthetic ingredients tend to disrupt the body’s innate cleansing activities. Detoxification programs can be executed in order to magnify or enhance the body’s natural cleansing processes. A very fundamental and often forgotten aspect of keeping the body clean and healthy is prevention — choosing a diet and lifestyle that limits exposure to toxins in the first place.
Cleansing diets and detox regimens should solely be attempted if the body’s normal cleansing functions are compromised. Toxicity of this magnitude can be triggered by an improper diet, stress, overeating, sedentary lifestyle, illness, and poor health habits in general. One’s digestive tract can be quite weakened, often a result of a long time of eating fast food, junk food, processed food and foods that are high in fat and low in fiber. When the digestive system is afflicted, food might not pass through the digestive tract efficiently. Instead of being digested properly and then excreted from the bowel, food may rot and bring about toxic by-products.
