Cheap Caribbean Cruises
It is a myth that cruises must be expensive. The fact is that there are many types of cruises, all suited for different wallets. On one end of the spectrum you have the budget ones, while at the other end you have the frightfully expensive ones. It is true that the higher-priced ones offer you a host of services like your personal butler, private balconies and lavishly decorated suites, but then if you are traveling in economy class you wouldn’t be treated like a castaway.
True, you won’t have a butler to tend to you or your own bar in your suite, but you would still be visiting new places, taking part in the deck games and enjoying good food and wine. When bitten by the travel bug, luxuries don’t matter. And the liners will ensure that you get all the comfort that is required.
The good news is that there are a lot of packages, especially in the Caribbean cruise segment, that offer a host of amenities even with the budget cruises. These are excellent deals, for not only are they easy on the pocket, but they take you places in style. You have Norwegian Dawn’s western Caribbean package that will take you to Jamaica, Mexico and Grand Cayman. This cruise is among the cheapest that is available, and it is well stocked with restaurants, pools and entertainment options onboard.
Then there’s the good bargain from ShermansTravel.com at $199 a night for three days of sailing around the Bahamas aboard the sophisticated Costa ship. Many cruises drop their prices for the fall-summer months, for this is the off-peak season in the Caribbean. It is a good time to visit the Caribbean, for many luxury ships continue to offer the same high-end amenities at reduced values. But then there’s a catch to this. Fall-summer months are peak times for tropical storms and so one needs to be careful while planning a trip during this time. After all, a cheap cruse will not at all be pleasurable if you are marooned in a port for days on end.
Cheap options abound on the web, you just need to cruise around and pick up the inviting ones. Given the tourism boom these days in the Caribbean region, many tour agents are offering good bargains. You can definitely find a good deal.
Caribbean Cruises provides detailed information about Caribbean cruises, Caribbean cruise deals, Caribbean cruise lines, luxury Caribbean cruises and more. Caribbean Cruises is the sister site of Working On Cruise Ships.

Writing Tips - Getting Into The Business
So, you want to be a writer. Maybe you’ve even written your first few songs or your first novel, fiction or non fiction. Perhaps you have a collection of poems or you are a technical writer for electronics and want to get published. Where do you begin? While becoming a published writer for pay is one of the hardest things in this world to do, it is possible. The following tips will make your life a lot easier.
The first thing you have to do is identify what type of writer you are. Every area of writing, whether it be song writing, fiction writing or technical writing, has a different avenue that needs to be traveled in order to get where you want to go. Most likely if you’re writing for the first time and have never been published you have no clue where to even go or who to approach to get your work published.
In that case the first thing you have to do is research. This can be done in book stores, libraries or even on the Internet, which is probably the most convenient place to start. Simply go to a search engine and type in “How to get started as a…” and fill the rest in with whatever type of writer you are, such as songwriter, fiction writer, technical writer and so on. Your search will turn up a number of results including articles on the subject and organizations for each type of writer. Read as many of these as you can. Yes, it is a lot of work and very time consuming. But think about how much time you spent on your finished work. It’s going to take at least that much time if not longer to get it published.
In the course of your search you’re going to find instructions on submitting your work, whatever it is. If it’s of a musical nature you will probably be asked to submit a CD of your recording. You may also be asked to submit the actual sheet music. If you’re not a technically trained person and don’t know how to transcribe music, there are two options open to you. You can either go to a service that will transcribe recorded material onto sheet music or you can buy software that will do this for you. Good software will cost a pretty penny, so make sure the cost is justified by how much you will save if you had each of your songs transcribed by a service. When you eventually get around to submitting your work, make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. Because of the number of submissions these companies get, they look for reasons to reject your work. Don’t give them even one.
Most companies say it will be 4 - 6 weeks until you hear something. Be patient. Don’t call up and ask if they got to your material. They’ll get to it when they do. If you should get a rejection letter back, don’t let it get to you. You will get a hundred of them before you get your first acceptance letter. Hopefully, the letters will come back with constructive criticism as to why you were rejected, though most will simply say, “Not what we are looking for”. If you do get comments, take them seriously and work on what they feel you need to work on. These people are the experts. They know.
If however, you do get your work accepted, make sure you follow all instructions they give you. If they want you to fly out and meet with them you book that flight yesterday. If they send you a contract to sign, get a lawyer immediately. If they say jump, you say “How high and how far?”.
Breaking into the business of writing is harder than you can possibly imagine. Once you get that opportunity, the words “I don’t want to do that” better not be part of your vocabulary.
This may be the only chance you get.

Gaming Laptops To Turn Ultra Mobile And Slick
Its absurd that laptop computers are now becoming a common gadget, as if you should have one. Those searching for the new intel centrino 2 platform could be kept waiting as manufacturers have given warning of potential shipment shortages. It seems like once there are backlogs those will only grow because demand for laptops is not diminishing at all. Also with laptop computers now it seems like every couple of months or so the technology is already replaced with something else.
A lot of brands have been launching gaming notebooks as of late. If you’re a gamer with a tight budget the great thing is that you can get a gaming notebook a lot less expensive now because the expected life is dropping. Gaming on notebooks is indeed a reality now with the breakthroughs in technology. Compact parts that perform better and are run cooler also means that gone are the days of the giant notebooks for gaming. Regardless off all the positives of notebooks, desktops should always perform faster than them. Gaming notebooks are constantly pressuring the speed barriers of laptop compputers so its always a true measure of how far the technology has come in those terms.
There are always going to be a couple of people that need a notebook custom built because they require to use it for a particular field of work. The concept of getting third party parts entices some customers in my view. I like the fact that you can on occasions even ask for what parts you require. Prebuilt laptops are targeted for common tasks and not upto doing more specialised things. Hardcore users require custom notebooks for this reason. There’s tons of system builders providing custom notebooks, with outstanding customer care. I positiviley feel this is a major thing that goes in favour for getting a notebook thats built to .
We are seeing some pretty awesome things at the minute and I wonder what will hit the market next. The amazingly low priced mobiles segment seems to be creating all the exciting at the moment. I did not feel anyone thought they would be so popular. Consumers need notebooks that are light but additionally big enough to be flexible and easy to use. If we skip out processing power I’m certaiin we would see those versions of notebooks today. I can predict its not too long before we start experiencing gaming notebooks that weigh nothing. What will be released next? Your guess is as good as mine.
Rizeon have a couple of the best laptops at the moment.

Hello New Orleans
I have loving cousins who live in New Orleans. They, like everyone else, had to evacuate their home and city during Hurricane Katrina. Fortunately for them, we have family in Atlanta, so that’s where they went. Together with Rochelle and Bobby, there is high-school junior Justin, and my elderly Aunt Lil whose is in her 90s. Rochelle, Bobby and Justin moved to a residence hotel and Aunt Lil moved to a senior citizen residence. Last night I spoke to Rochelle who told me they were returning to New Orleans this week. Aunt Lil would be remaining behind in Atlanta.
Wow, I thought, is this a good decision or not? First, to move back to New Orleans means to move back to a city which is still not fully functioning as it needs to in order to support those who live there. Will there be enough government services? Police? Fire? School teachers? It turns out that the main reason they are moving back is so that Justin can resume his classes with his friends. After all, they have been in school together for eleven years, and he wants to be back with them in comfortable, safe and familiar surroundings.
The neighborhood where they live is on higher ground, so the damage is minimal. But they will be moving back home to a city with still has lots of problems. There is no downtown. The city is in shambles, it hardly looks or even sounds like the New Orleans they once knew and loved. Power is still off in many neighborhoods, and hospitals are not yet fully staffed. The question can honestly be asked: what kind of future awaits them? Why move back at all? Maybe staying in Atlanta is a better way to go.
On the other hand, I suspect that most of those who left New Orleans will by now be experiencing what I will call “a second disconnect.” First, their city was destroyed and no one came to help them, so they had to leave. That was the first disconnect. By now, they are feeling like strangers in communities not their own, surrounded by caring and loving people who have reached out to help, but who by now are probably feeling something like, “okay, it’s been nice to have you for a while, we’re glad we could help you out when you needed us, but now please leave us alone so we can get back to our former normal lives.”
This is a natural and normal feeling on the part of those who took New Orleaneans into their homes and schools and factories and communities. Here comes another disconnect, where again there is a feeling of being an alien in a strange land. So I can well understand Rochelle saying that they want to return home. Their home is their haven, and they miss it terribly. By the way, Aunt Lil is doing great in the Jewish Home in Atlanta–who would have thought? She has neighbors, staff to take care of her, food she likes, nearby relatives too come and visit, and so she’s very happy. I’m sure this made Rochelle’s decision much easier.
What is the right answer? I have no idea. I feel sad for my cousins and their friends who return, they are living in the middle of a dilemma with no solid solution. On the other hand, I guess that’s what hope is–in the midst of ambiguity, the courage to move forward and to make a conscious decision that no matter what, there is a bright future to look forward to. And that is how she sounded last night on the phone. Good luck, my cousins, and good luck to all those who are coming home. May the New Year 2006 bring you all a renewed sense of belonging and safety and serenity and community. And most of all, peace.

Minnesota Music Lessons
Minnesota music lessons are famous in Minneapolis and Saint Paul metropolitan areas and in the surrounding areas. In Minnesota you can find several music schools. Some of the schools offer in home music classes for you while for some schools you need to go to the schools for lessons. You can have individual classes or can learn with other fellow students. Age is not bar for the schools. Teaching music is their only goal. Kids as well adults are welcome. You can learn along with your 5 years old kid. Learning is all fun! And this is going to make your child’s growth process faster and happier.
Minnesota music lessons are not all about learning vocal music. Classes are available on different instruments. In brass you will get to learn French horn, trumpet/cornet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba. For the composition part you have composition, theory and solfege. In guitar classes you get to learn acoustic guitar, electric guitar, classical guitar, and electric bass. For the keyboard section you will have classical piano, jazz piano, and harpsichord. In percussion you are included with drum set, marimba, snare drum, timpani, vibraphone, and auxiliary percussion.
Minnesota music lessons also offer classes on string instrument. You can have classes on violin (both classical and folk), viola, cello, double bass and harp. If you are interested in vocals you have options like classical, musical theater, jazz and pop. For woodwind you can learn flute/piccolo, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, recorder and bassoon. The classes are also available for the kids who are in the toddler stages. No matter if your kids do not have time for classes after school or you do not have time after a hectic day in the office. They have classes as per your leisure time. And for your kids there are summer classes also available.
Increased Credit Card Payments - Helping You Keep Up
In the past, credit card payments have always been fair, a small percentage of the total balance owed. A new change has recently been proposed by the government that may change this. The monthly credit card payments that people are making may double within the next year. This will make things much harder for people who are already having a hard time making their existing payments.
How Much You Will Now Need To Pay
The credit card companies have made large profits by allowing people to make small payments on their credit card balances. The interest rate on credit cards has gone as high as 20%. At this rate, it can take a person years to pay off debts that are just a few thousand dollars. It does little good to make only the minimum payments on your credit card each month. Because the average American owes about $10,000 in credit card debt, their monthly payments are about $200. The new proposed law would push this amount to $400, including interest.
The law proposed by the federal government has been in existence for two years, but companies have been given a set period of time to comply with the law. It is expected that lenders will raise the payments to 4% before the end of this year. At first glance this may seem like a small amount, but it will dramatically increase the monthly payments of those who owe thousands of dollars. Many people have already begun filing for bankruptcy. You are probably wandering what you should do in a situation like this.
If You Can’t Pay
The first thing you can do is stop using your credit cards. It doesn’t make much sense to keep using it when the minimum payments are about to be increased. After this you will want to begin cutting back on bills that will keep you from being able to make your monthly payments. If you have equity in your home, you will want to use it to consolidate your loans if possible. An unsecured personal loan can also be helpful. It may also be possible to get a lower interest rate from your bank.
There’s No Going Back Now
One thing you have to understand is that when the minimum payments increase, they are not likely to come back down. While this will allow some people to pay off their debts faster, many more people will not be able to pay off their loans, and will be forced to file bankruptcy. Some people believe that such a law will hurt the economy, because by raising the cost of the minimum payments you will decrease the purchasing power of the citizens.
Financial Freedom is the Key
It is best to get out of debt in anyway you can, or reduce your interest rates. If you don’t have a credit card, you may want to avoid getting one. You should sit down and be honest with yourself to decide if you’re responsible enough to manage one. If not, it is best to use cash. It has become more difficult to get out of debt than ever before, and this will not change in the future. It is important for you to take the steps today that can allow you to reduce your financial burden. You should stop using your credit card as soon as possible.
On a Personal Note - Living In Never Never land
Many experts have argued that increasing the monthly payments on loans will help people and I for one must agree with that. Even at this increased amount consumers will be paying an exorbitant amount in interest and fees given the average balance of an American’s credit card statement. These high interest-charging credit cards have been sucking the money from many of us who are blissfully unaware of the financial damage that they are causing. Short-term financial strain in increasing these minimum payments may be the best long-term strategy to find the growing debt problem in the US. A change in attitudes by many of us would also be a start of a brighter financial future.

Planning Time To Write
In his book, “Achieving Financial Independence as a Freelance Writer,” Ray Dreyfack, a full-time freelancer for 30 years, suggests that writers “ease” into full-time writing while maintaining their day jobs. If you’re following this advice, either by choice or by necessity, you know that it’s not always easy. Obligations to jobs and families tend to take priority over writing. It’s easy to lose focus of your writing goals when you have so many distractions in your life.
It is possible to pursue a career as a freelance writer, even though you can’t commit yourself to it full time. All you need are three things: time management skills, desire, and a day-planner. If you have the first two, you can get the third after you read this article!
Schedule Your Week
As in any part-time job, you must determine your hours of availability. Every Sunday evening check your calendar for the upcoming week. Schedule yourself “off” for the days filled other obligations. Establish what your work hours will be before you do anything else. Write your work days and times in your planner.
Writing Goals
Most experts promote the practice of setting writing goals. However, plans such as, “write something everyday” or “research on Mondays, write queries on Tuesdays,” (you get the picture), are too vague for writers operating on a time crunch. What happens if your child has a band concert on Tuesday? Not only will that throw you off course for this week, chances are, it will also set you back the following week. These disruptions in such a loose plan can cause frustration and weaken your writing resolve. For greater productivity, set your goals on a weekly basis, after you’ve determined your hours of availability. Plan what you will do at each work session, according to the time available, and write it in your planner. This way, you’ll be focused the minute you sit down, instead of trying to decide what you should do.
Create A Secondary “To Do” List
This list is separate from your weekly plan. It contains tasks that require a small block of time to complete. Organizing files, writing greeting card ditties, sending out reprint offers, and researching markets are some examples. This list is where you turn when you unexpectedly find yourself with extra work time. It will also come in handy on those days when your work time has been unavoidably reduced. Without this list, you may end up spending this precious time trying to decide what to do with it. Designate an area in your planner for this list. Remember to cross off your accomplishments and add to your list as needed.
Organize Your Supplies
Keep everything you need in one area. Nothing wastes time like repeatedly getting up to retrieve items you need. If you have an office or work area, keep your most important tools of the trade close at hand. If you don’t have an area designated for your writing, a bin with everything you’ll need works just fine.
Use an area in your planner to keep track of your writing supplies. Make a list of everything you use. As you begin to run low on any of the items, make a note to replenish your stock as soon as possible.
Show Up For Work
This is probably the most difficult part of all, because there are always going to be reasons for not writing. After you’ve made your schedule, do everything in your power to stick to it. No employer in their right mind would pay an employee who always makes excuses for not showing up. If you want to get paid for your writing, you must plan time to write!
